While i thought this movie was ok, the production seemed extremely budget and overall the movie seemed rushed, and slap-dash. The story was quite interesting and the acting was quite good, although Jon Seda's character did get quite annoying. But I can understand the rating of 5.5, the film was nothing special but it wasn't a bad film either. Just my two cents.

i just watched sunchaser for the first time. At first I thought it was set in the late 1980's yuppie era because you see Woody harlseon in a porsch at the opening scene wearing a hairy tash and talkng about his new soon to be 2mil property. As the movie goes on - it is set in 1990's, the character Blue quotes words from rapper tupak shakur circa 1994. the film has some interesting scenes like the ghettos and slums of LA. The ending was dodgy! you have horses and a police helicopter and a brotherly love feeling at the end. a good film.

i enjoyed this, it's better than 5.5.

i'd give it a 7. shame it isnt available on dvd

reply

Well, for me its almost the summum. I really enjoyed, especially the 2nd half. Woody Harrelson best performance...i first got lost into his arrogant behaviour, then you gonna love him...thursty scenerie at the end...at least 8+

This film just showed on Indieplex, where you usually get to see some good although under rated flix. This film is pure garbage, what value can anyone see in it. Over the top drama, ridiculous ending and ridiculous scene after idiotic scene. Some of the lines are even goofed up, who can rate this above a zero?

What about the ending sequence and music, "What a Difference a Day Makes" a disco version sung by Esther Phillips, she's moaning during the instrumental as if she's having sex, are you kidding me? If anything this is a B-movie spoof, you can't possibly be serious.

reply

I agree! I watched it some years ago, thinking it was boring, and it was not!
Maybe I'll watch it again!

The ending was the that of a very good film.

You are right the end credits music was a VERY poor choice. I think it was actually insulting.

IMO there was only one other poor part of this film and that was the scene in the petrol station from when Blue got into the back seat of the car until he got out of the car, that scene was badly done and should have been re-written.

The rest of this film easily deserves 7/10

Agreed!!! The movie is spectacular. Wealthy, successful uptight White doctor with a secret crosses paths with poor, jailed, dying gang-banger Native American. They learn to respect each other and each others culture. The youth frees the doctor when he tells him the old Indian story about the Sunchaser, he doctor frees the Youth's spirit when he takes him to the magic lake. Beautiful!!!
