Stripping is immoral

It is digraceful, immoral, and undignified. And if you disagree, can you honestly say that you wouldn't mind if your sister, daughter, or mother was a stripper?

My psychology class in college gave us an assignment to interview strippers and write a paper on why they became strippers. they have such sad stories. i guess this is the difference between men and woman. if i met a guy who had such an awful upbringing/life i would be turned off and could not be attracted to him at all. but w/ a man they don't care what the girl is like and her upbringing as long as she is "hot"

You're mixing up two big things here. Your lack of attraction to a guy who's had a tough life for a personal relationship is the not the same as a guy going to a strip club to enjoy watching a woman dance.

So, you would be turned off if someone had a rough upbringing? I understand being turned off if that person is currently living the wrong way, but there are millions of people who grew up in dysfunctional homes and turn out to be great people.

What I think is immoral is when people try to push their twisted values onto everyone around them. Take your holier-than-thou attitude and shove it where the sun don't shine.

I always love when some religious airhead judges others as inferior, immoral, or generally unworthy simply because they read some bronze age book of fairy tales and now they feel they have moral superiority.

Then of course, the only argument they really have is some mythical damnation for anyone who doesn't accept some queer carpenter as personal savior. I'd rather every female in my life be a stripper than a brainwashed idiot.

Good day.

Wow. Lightning bolts commence. I'm glad I'm not like that. Once you've given yourself over to a depraved and blasphemous mind, there's no coming back. Oh well, too bad, so sad.

Really? Doesn't THE BOOK have a parable called "the prodigal son"?? And I bet Mary Magdalene is sure happy Jesus didn't say this to her...

If you're going to shove beliefs on others, first make sure they aren't more familiar with those beliefs than you are...

If I could just get a decent piece of bacon I could turn this douche of a day around

Nonsense

I met a very well adjusted women who paid her tuition by stripping and then moved on.

I knew of at least 3 in college who moved on to have careers. It pays well and it's just showing boobs, I honestly don't see the big deal.

I agree. The only situation where I could consider this line of work not a great idea is if the risk taken doesn't help someone lead a clean life later on. Some people do it for desperation, others because they're confident with their assets and love to show off without much effort, then there's the damaged. For me, the only problem is going into a career where someone can easily blackmail you into doing things you shouldn't just because you stripped. That's where the line is painfully thin.

reply

The prodigal son was not given over to a depraved mind. Maybe you should actually read the Bible.

Couldn't agree more, I've seen such a crusade going on with christian fundamental discrimination on this site it's hilarious! I feel so bad for the US at times like this, as it reflects their horrible judgmental past and deluded superiority over other nations and cultures, including their own!

What makes it disgraceful? Nudity. What makes it immoral? The fact that many men get off on it? What makes it undignified? The fact that there is a misconception that these women are nothing more than dancing hookers. There are some women who do it that have some really bad stories, but I have also met women who got pretty damned rich doing it. It depends on the woman and how she conducts herself. Stripping and prostitution are two different things and I think a lot of people get them intertwined. And really when you get down to it whose being immoral? The stripper who is smart enough to take a sucker's money to watch her take her clothes off? Or the sucker who is willing to pay a woman to do something that if his game was tight she would do for free? By the way, we live in a World were if a woman is a teacher she might make $20,000.00 a year. But, if she is a stripper or prostitute she can make thousands in one night. Hate the game, not the players.

reply

"Hate the game, not the players."

Uh thats kind of what the thread is about, it says STRIPPING is immoral, not strippers. The fact that society has made a market for this is the problem, not the victims of desperation

reply

Well when I read the original post I got the feeling that not only was the poster passing judgment on the profession but the women who are apart of it. That was MY interpretation and I responded the way I felt.

reply

Why would you think that when hes asking what would you think if your mother or sister was doing it? Sounds more like concern about the victims of the industry

reply

Because that's what I thought. It is MY interpretation of the post. It didn't come off that way to me.

Hey Oprah,

The human animal buys and sells all kinds of services, many sexual in nature. Always has, always will. If you have an expectation that humanity is supposed to fit some pure ideal, you are in for a lifetime of disappointment.

At best, you can live your life as an example to those around you, and hope that some people absorb some information from your actions.

But seeing all your anti-men/anti-sexuality crusading posts on here, I'm guessing you are going to continue to try to "save the world".

Good luck.

reply

Hope you arent talking to me since I used to volunteer at a rape relief shelter specializing with boys and men. And yes its very possible to have a world where people dont have to be put in a position where they feel selling themselves is a good way or the only way they can make money. Im sorry i expected more for the human race

Many strippers are smart, healthy, educated well-functioning individuals. The OP should read "Dance naked: a guide to unleashing your inner hottie" by Jessica Conrad. Or watch The Full Monty.
