Is this the ultimate in trash telemovie kingdom?

Donna Mills, Michael Ontkean, Cindy Williams... all D-Grade television movie staples, and the fact that the Lifetime Television Movies channel keeps running this every few days at any given time alone should tell you...

However, I do put it on par with the camp trash made-for-television remake of "Whatever Happened To Baby Jane?" starring the Redgrave sisters. Ah, if only Bette Davis was around to relive THAT horror!

I guess Judith Light and Markie Post were making other Very Special Movies when this was filmed, so they couldn't appear. This looks like even better cheese than 1980's "Revenge of the Stepford Wives" with Sharon Gless, Julie Kavner and Don Johnson, who all went on to better things later in that decade.

I actually liked the TV remake of "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane," though it was nowhere near as demented as inspired as the Crawford-Davis original.

I have to admit, Lifetime movies are a guilty pleasure of mine. This one was actually pretty good, I was startled at that. It was a bit creepy too.
The scene where her husband is 'in the machine' was downright crawly.

I wouldn't mind finding a copy of this, but I have no idea where to look.

"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."

I agree. The wife was pretty silly but I enjoyed it. The husband trap thing was very creepy, even scary. I caught the last hour on the reelz channel but have no clue where you could get it from.

Lol! That's good to know. Maybe I'll be able to see the beginning.

There is no "i" in tiem...oh wait.

I've just watched it, and it was very entertaining. It had strong performances and a decent script. I think it could have been "weirder" and less soap operatic, though. Still it's a solid 7/10 stars from me.

they should release all 4 movies together as a set

stepford wives

revenge of the stepford wives

stepgord husbands

stepford children

you never see these on tv any omore

reply

That would be a dream set.

reply

Yes it would. The Revenge Of Stepford Wives is on YouTube but it's a pretty bad copy but better than nothing.
