Still Holds up Pretty Good after 20 Years

I enjoy this movie, in fact I play it ever year while decorating the christmas tree. Not sure how that tradition started but its something we do.

The movie does have its warts, with cheesy lines, brushed over story lines and plot devices but I typically try to overlook.

One line that Geordi delivers really bothers me..."guys could you check on the environmental controls its getting a little warm in here".

yeah this one bothers me...I've seen through out the years of watching the show that Georgi is a pretty smart guy, head engineer on the Federation's Flag Ship carrier, has found more uses over the years for the deflector dish than tribbles on the Enterprise and isn't in a relationship because he can use the Holograph room to bang whomever he chooses. Smart

Now back to my point, "getting a little warm in here fellows"...they've just been in battle with the Borg and now i'm led to believe that probably the 2nd smartest person on the ship doesn't realize or even think the higher temps could have something to do with the Borg...Geordi has it EVER been to hot in Engineering? like ever? according to those polyester uniforms i'm confident it hasn't.

"getting a little warm in here"..yeah Geordi probably the Borg, i'm sure its the Borg so i'm not going to check it out. You go check it out.

I'll put up with "to hell with our orders sirrrr" or the Borg queen making Data orgasm.. but a little hot in here drives me crazy.

I dont give half a hump if you're innocent or not, so where does that put you?...Shephard Book

I feel old now.

Voluptatis avidus,
Magis quam salutis,
Mortuus in anima,
Curam gero cutis.

SwordedSoul, the way I see Geordi's line, is that he's an experienced Engineering officer with a whole new staff on the Enterprise-E, or at least staff who have no experience of the Borg or fighting them, and so they're probably not aware of the higher temperatures of the Borg environment, so he doesn't want to panic them by telling them about it outright, so he subtly asks them to see if the environmental controls have been altered, to confirm his fears. That's it.

It's possible that the staff are aware of some aspects of the Borg, but judging by the man and woman who were taken and the woman's utter reaction of terror, I doubt it.
