In basketball, would the final shot count as two or three points? I don't remember what it counted as in the movie, or even if the movie got it right.

It would count as 3 points. In the movie it counted as 2 points. They got it wrong.
According to the "Goofs" section here on imdb they got it wrong several times during the game.
Though technically, it is a Looney Tunes world, so the typical laws of certain things may not apply. Or it was just a blooper.
