Jim Norman's Fate (Spoilers)

So, I just watched the movie and there's a scene where Jim Norman from the original is mentioned by the priest. Michael Gross's character calls Jim's home and Tony answers having murdered Jim and possibly his wife and son as well. I'm not saying that Jim's death couldn't have played an integral part in the story I just wish it wasn't as quick as they made it. And not to mention I hate when original characters from older movies are brought back in some way just to be killed off to enhance the plotline. Well, anyway, Wayne's got his brother back. Although I don't think Jimmy planned to be dead 5 years later.
