Dwight Yoakam stole the show

It was like how Dark Knight was really good only when Joker showed up in a scene, same for this, anytime Doyle had a scene Dwight Yoakam killed it, he was funny, he was scary, and he felt so god damn real, i've met alot of guys like Doyle. I just keep waiting for the Doyle scenes anytime i watch this.

Its a crime Dwight Yoakam didn't get an oscar for this role.

Yoakam's portrayal of a mean, drunken bully is perfect in this movie...he's better than Thornton in it imo

Totally agree, i love Thornton in this but yeah Yoakam is better and by far the best in the movie. He's also really great in Panic Room, dude gets really scary in that one.

Yoakam is such an underrated actor man, its a shame he isn't in more big time movies.

Well put
He plays a fine 'creepy guy'

Both Dwight Yoakam and BBT should have won oscars

The first time I saw this movie I was absolutely blown away when the credits rolled at the end. I always liked Dwight Yoakam's music but had no idea that he was the villain. He's a great musician, but he might be an even better actor.

Yoakam was great but I like Thornton's performance more
