First part: 10/10, Second part: 6/10

I felt like it lost a lot of steam when Kevin Bacon died because of the way the focus shifted so suddenly. I liked the second half a lot too, but I did find myself starting to feel the film's run-time in some of the slower moments.

Not exactly 6/10, but you're right. I didn't knew half of the movie was going to be a court drama, so imagine my surprise when this film did a complete turn. The first half is very well made indeed, would not be ashamed to compare it to Once Upon a Time in America or some Scorsese flicks. It looses some of that raw energy as the story jumps onto the 1980s.

The first part was clearly better than the second, but I think "boring as hell" is a tad harsh; it wasn't that bad.
