I've got to see this again!

First saw this on 'Monstervision' (the JBB years) and *beep* loved it! Is this on DVD? I must see it again!

reply

yea go on amazon

reply

Thanks

reply

your welcome, did you buy it yet?

reply

Not yet, I have to save my money at this moment; I'm a little strapped money wise.

reply

it's only 1p used then 1.26 for P+P that is dirt cheap I'm sure that won't break the bank lol

reply

True. You make a compelling argument.

reply

exactly so why don't you just buy it, treat yourself :-]

reply

I think I will, thanks a lot!

reply

no probs, where you from? I'm in UK

reply

U.S.

reply

ah ok on Amazon.co.uk it is cheaper then Amazon.com, do you have a region free DVD player? and where in US you from as I have been to quite a few states

reply

I do not have a r-free player. I do have a computer that can change regions, but if I use that feature too many times, it will stick with the last region I selected (sort of like making funny faces, I guess)

Oh, I'm from Colorado, Longmont to be exact. How 'bout yourself?

reply

Oh ok fair enough just get the American one then R1, I'm in the uk in Kent 45 mins from London. So have you brought it now then?? What other B films do you like?

reply

So there is a r-1 version! OK, good to know! I still didn't get to buy it as things here are getting more hectic by the minute. I did just put it on my list and will purchase it when things start to calm down (if they ever do, I've been expecting things to improve for a while now, but problems are like the heads of a hydra; for every one I fix, two more take it's place)

Anyway, some other cheesy delights include many films from Troma, a few from FullMoon (I haven't seen as many FM movies), some films by Edward Wood (just saw 'Night Of The Ghouls' not long ago and it's great!). Roger Corman has made some great cornball flicks (and even a few good serious movies; check out 'The Intruder'!) 'Basket Case' 1 & 2 are both really good (I'll be seeing 3 pretty soon). If you want something really edgy, you could check out John Waters' early flicks or for something far less edgy, I you might enjoy some of the old singing cowboy flicks (Gene Autry, Roy Rogers) a lot of them are fun, but ultimately forgettable though ever so often you find one that sticks with you.

I also like 'U.H.F' (the Weird Al Yankavic movie!), 'Terror Vision', 'Killer Klowns From Outer Space', 'Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes' and a flick called 'The Sex 'O' Clock News', a very underrated sketch-comedy in the 'The Groove Tube' tradition.

How about yourself?

Oh, I'm also one of very few people that likes Stephen King's 'Maximum Overdrive'.

reply

oh right cool, I went into a second hand shop in CEX and got it for 25p :-], you listed some good B films there- some of mine are: The Evil dead films, Time Runner, Alien Hunter, Pin, Darkbreed, Progeny, From Beyond, Re-Animator, Hellraiser films, Brain damage, Bad Taste, Fright night 1+2, Silver Bullet, The Invader,Alien Lockdown, Of Unknown origins,

I have heard of that 60's film the Intruder but will def check it out,

so named other good 809's+90's B films with couple of ones from 2000's

reply when you can

reply

I've never heard of 'Alien Lockdown', but I like the title.

reply

shall I send you the link to the trailer?

reply

Is it on YouTube? If it is, then I can find it. Thanks though.

Hey, while we're on the subject, did you ever read 'The Toxic Avenger: The Novel' written by Lloyd Kaufman.

reply

yea it is but here is link anyway:www.youtube.com/watch?v=aN6aofGFi5I
it not a bad B film

Yea I did a few times over the years why?

reply

Thanks, I'll check it out.

"Yea I did a few times over the years why?"

We were on the subject of cheesy movies and a cheesy (but well-written) book based on a cheesy movie just came to mind.

reply

here is a 2nd trailer for the film that is a little longer with some different scenes

Oh I see what you mean, another good film I like that had a good Graphic Novel from the 80's is V for Vendetta

reply

I never read that, I'll have to check it out. Come to think of it, I never saw the movie either. Is it any good?

reply

yea it is good, it is dark but at the same time has some humour : did you mean the Novel or film or both as it is both a yes from me here is the trailer: www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_13fFIrhPk

Natalie Portman does a convincing London accent I must say

reply

I meant both. I hadn't seen/read either one so I was wondering if the movie lived up to the comic or if the movie maybe was an improvement, but from your response, I'm thinking that you found them to be about equal. By the way, I just saw a flick you might like called 'The Lamp' (aka, 'The Outing'). It's a slasher flick about a malicious genie that kills a group of teens who lock themselves up in a museum (to do the usual teenage stuff; drinking, sex and all that...). It's got some good stuff in it, including a fight scene at the high school that is interrupted by the teacher who takes care to the problem Cynthia Rothrock style(!) and Iron Median's mascot coming alive to bite the fingers off the girl's boyfriend!

reply

Yea found them both equal, that sounds alright that will def check out a trailer/pics.
