What genre exactly is it?

I started to watch the film expecting a romantic comedy, but those films are suppose to have some sort of humor (even bad humor is humor) and romance (even contrived romance would do), but I didn't see anything that resembled either.

So what is it? A Drama? Just stuff on film?

Another time wasting poster. You are a fool.

It's a comedy. It was shown quite often on Comdey Central, back when the names of channels indicated what kind of programming they showed.

Agree. This was a film I used to catch on cable all the time and I had to keep watching every time. Lots of great one liners, great performances. The funny parts never lose their charm for me. This is the one movie that has such a low rating on IMDB that is one of my favorites. I like Ed Burns and Maxine was hot, jennifer was hot and even Cameron was pretty hot. Not a serious flick. Just good fun.

I think it's a tragicomedy, as it depicts some unfortunate events but in a dry witty way and with a happy ending (at least for the main character).

I wouldn't say it's a romantic comedy as the romantic parts are quite contrived. No doubt that instead of a romantic pair, the movie is more about a brothers' pair.

I would say just stuff on film.....or a punchless drama..there is no comedy in it and totally zero romance.
