were there by any chance any suggestions of sexual abuse in Sir Henry Simerson's caning of his niece Jane?
If there were, I'm also curious as to whether this might have also contributed to the reason that she became bored with Sharpe in Revenge, perhaps she missed her Uncle's hard Cane?
