i saw this film at least a half-a-dozen times in the theater, have it on video tape and dvd, and will stop and watch it whenever i run across it on television.
the entire cast is superb...it's a one-of-a-kind classic!

As an adoptee myself, this film spoke to me in many directions.
If you were adopted in the fifties especially, the aspect of " secrets and lies"might speak to others more directly. It's just that things were so secretive and forbidden back then.
Loved the movie, watch it over and over again. Love the interrelationships of the main characters. Cynthia's character is so painful to watch.
It's definitely one of my favourite films. A true masterpiece.

Secrets & Lies is a masterclass in acting. All the performances are enticing and place audiences in the midst of every scene.
I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not.
