Purple and Green

When watching this film, I noticed that Leigh uses green and purple in almost all of the scenes, but there doesn't seem to be an obvious reason for this. Did anyone see any significance in the colours?

Not having seen more than about a half hour of this film, because Blethyn's performance/character drove me crazy, I have no idea where purple and green were used in it. However, perhaps they were used to symbolize life (green) and death (purple)???????

No idea.

I guess the cinematographer liked green and purple lighting.

It's that man again!!
