Stevie Not Killed? ***Spoilers***

I'm still confused. The leg shown on the autopsy table was not Stevie's. When questioning, the policeman says "Short and stocky fellow?" and the leg I saw was one that could only belong to a short man. Stevie was tall and skinny!
So what happened to Stevie? Why would someone else be wearing his overcoat? What really happened?

reply

First, the policeman did ask if it (the dead man) was a short and stocky fellow. He assumed the dead man was the "secret" agent, Bob Hoskins' character.

Second, only a short leg was recovered from a body that was blown to bits? I am surprised even a short leg survived.

Of course Stevie was dead.

reply

of course the leg on the autopsy table was short, it was blown in half! The Police Chief asked his sister if Stevie was a short stocky fellow I think to acertain who was carrying the yellow bucket bomb at the station.

Check out The Secret Agent 2: The Revenge of Stevie for answers.

haw haw.

Was Stevie's disembodied head in a tree not a big enough clue?

reply

The head in the tree was just Patricia Arquette imagining her brother getting blown to pieces.

reply

She had an ugly head then.

I also found that a bit confusing. BUT a very plausible explanation would be that the policeman delibrately said the wrong description so he would get the right description from the sister so by that confirming what he already knows (it's a very common thing to do as a policeman)..
