for a small guy who carried an entire spectacle such as Empire of the Sun towards many other demanding roles, all of them a full variety in demands and full commitment, your sentence stands correct to the last word.
one of the greatest actors of the decade, although many do not remember his early roles, where he was always taking much upon himslef even if a movie was a complete diarhea. saying that he goes retard or slow or whatever may be only justified in context of CB in a role of an actually mentally disabled person.
