could billy and stu have gotten away with it?

say they killed everyone, and sydney had never calle dthe cops

could billy and stu have gotten away with it?

reply

Maybe if Sidney hadn't put up such a fight, but it just got worse and worse for them. Stabbing each other while some of their victims were still alive was not a smart thing to do.

reply

And, don't forget Gale. She intervened also. And her camera.

Bet they weren't planning on Gale wielding a gun.

reply

They might have gotten away with the earlier killings (they did get away with killing Sidney's mother), but that final night; no WAY. They were leaving evidence everywhere.

reply

There was way too much forensic evidence against them if we're going by real life and not movie logic.

Their biggest mistake was wounding themselves before finishing off Sidney. Little did they know, they end up fighting her, and surprise, they, especially Stu the most, were too wounded to take on Sidney, who has proven herself to be a worthy fighter - basically the very deep-cut wounds they themselves gave to each other ended up giving Sidney the advantage and upper-hand against them by a landslide. Sure she was hurt too, but not as badly as they were. So, their fault, they've brought it on themselves. 😝 Maybe they should've thought that through first, cause Jill obviously learned from that mistake in Scream 4.

I'm confident that Sheriff Burke would have never rested until he tracked them down.🐭

reply

Nope. They left evidence every where. For example, Billy had corn syrup all over his shirt and forensics would know. Also at some point, cops would have found Gale's camera and seen/heard everything.

What exactly would they know? That Billy is a cold-blooded serial killer who faked his own death in front of his girlfriend to mess with her mind and slaughter her an hour later?

The corn syrup is hardly suspicious, it could very well have been a prank at a horror movie marathon party or perhaps he's just a messy eater. I also doubt police in such a small town were going to forensically test every piece of evidence if they felt confident about whom the killer was.

reply

You still have Gale's cameras though

reply

The chances of Dewyey and co finding the camera are slim .. In fact chances are if they did find it they would just pick it up look under it and put it back not knowing what it is

reply

You don't think police would find the camera when investigating the house or the van after the murders? Why would they just put it back? I know they're just small town cops, but I doubt they would be THAT incompetent.

reply

Because they hired Dewey for one thing so we are not dealing with Sherlock here .. We know the camera filmed a murder the cops don't ..Chances are even if they did see the camera they would just think nothing of it .How do we know Stuff didn't have other cameras about the house for whatever reason ?

reply

If everything had gone according to Billy and Stu's plan, Dewey would've been dead. But I doubt the murder scene would only be investigated by the deputy sheriff. The tapes would've been confiscated and if even if the police wouldn't have watched them, I'm sure Gale's network would've once they were returned.

reply

The corn syrup was all over his body. Messy eater? Seriously? Nobody would think that. They'd find out it wasn't real blood when they made him see a doctor that same night. Now, would they automatically think he faked his death before killing Sydney and her dad and framing him? Probably not, but it would raise questions at the very least, and since Billy had gone completely insane by that point, there's a good chance he'd screw up his answers.

Also, when it was all said and done, more than just the local police would be involved. Before the party deaths, there were only two victims, Casey and Steve. If Billy and Stu succeeded, the principal, Tatum, Randy, Dewey, Sydney, Kenny, and Gale would all be dead. Plus Sydney's dad, who they framed. So that's six murders, five at one location, in one night, plus the death of the "killer", and two live victims. That would be national news and the F.B.I or state police would absolutely be called to investigate as well, even if the local police were convinced they had the killer and he was dead.

reply

I don't think you're getting my point. Why the hell would corn syrup on his shirt raise ANY suspicion with the police? It's possible they would ask what those stains on his shirt were because they didn't exactly look like blood (although I wonder if they would even notice with all the REAL blood on his shirt) and he could very well say he played a prank. And no, if Billy had stuck to his plans he would've had no problem answering that question.

The FBI has no reason to be involved in a non-federal case unless asked for help. With two survivors and an obvious killer this would seem like a closed case. Sure, there would be interest, but if the local authorities felt they could handle it, there would be no need for outside help. And I doubt those authorities would waste their time on forensically investigating meaningless stains on Billy's shirt when he's got ACTUAL stzb wounds.

The problem is that Billy and Stu didn't stick to their plans and messed up the crime scene leaving clues everywhere. But no, the corn syrup would not have been their downfall.

their finger prints were all over the cloned cell phone, the knife, the gun, the mask, the outfit.

reply

Which just goes to show they weren't as clever as they thought they were.

reply

No they got dumb near the end.
