I'm jealous of those of you who got to see this when it first came out.

I'm not very young or anything, I was 11 when this film came out. But I wasn't allowed to see it until I turned 15, and by then knew the main character was Neve Campbell's.

I love Drew Barrymore and think the opening of Scream is iconic and possibly the best horror opening scene ever. I would have LOVED to see this in the cinema thinking Drew was the central character and getting to be so shocked by her death so early.

I had seen this the day of xmas I guess right after it came out in theaters. To this day I still remember the shock I said to my older brother "but she can't die. She's the lead??" It definitely was a shocking moment. But I guess that's also the feeling for Psycho to some as well.

I sort of assumed she would die in the beginning because everything that we saw of her, in the trailers, tv spots etc seemed to be from that 1 scene. Well my sister kind of spoiled it for me as she had seen it before she took me to see it, I was only 12 but I kinda suspected her being in only one scene.

I, too, was jealous of a classmate who got to see Scream in May of 1997 and I wasn't able to being only 15 at the time.

The following year I made sure I got to see Scream 2 more than once.

The biggest shock in Scream 2, for me, was the shock reveal of the second killer

I did not see that coming.

You and me both, dude. I was only three in '96. And I wanted to catch S4 in theaters in 2011, but I missed, thanks to money issues, and to this day I am kicking myself in the ass for this regret. Could I get a DeLorean time machine?

But I'm hoping that S1 gets re-released in theaters, maybe for a 25th or 30th anniversary celebration. But when (and if) it happens, come hell or high water, I'm going to be in the first line of moviegoers to see it. 😉

Hahahahaha!! I saw this for the first time during the summer of '97 when I was 11, and I was so surprised Drew died in the opening scene. All I was thinking was: .....so now what?

Such a great opening scene.

I saw it on television

Really? Only on the edited version?!

It was a great movie experience. I remember lots of people screaming at the jump scares, i heard a lot of people say "hmmmm" when billy dropped his cell phone in sidney's room after she had been attacked. The entire theater was shocked when drew got killed.

I saw it when I was 18 and it has been one of my top movie going experiences of all time. Our theater was really into it and laughed and screamed at all the right parts.

It was a good one to see! I remember getting really stoned and seeing it at an all black movie theater! My favorite kind! It was the best experience ever!
