I'm not very young or anything, I was 11 when this film came out. But I wasn't allowed to see it until I turned 15, and by then knew the main character was Neve Campbell's.
I love Drew Barrymore and think the opening of Scream is iconic and possibly the best horror opening scene ever. I would have LOVED to see this in the cinema thinking Drew was the central character and getting to be so shocked by her death so early.
I think I was only 3 years old when this first came out. Though, I still remember it being a popular horror film in the early 2000s. My friends and I used to watch it all the time.
shareI knew from the trailer it was going to be a hit. I was already a huge Wes Craven fan and around 20 at the time. It was great in theaters.
shareI was 12 when it was released in December of 1996. It wasn't released on video until December of 1997. It was during the summer of 1998 when I was 13 that I first saw it because my parents let me buy the tape at Blockbuster Video. That whole summer was spent watching it every day talking to my friend on the phone while he watched it, too. We would make comments and talk about it and say the lines.
