If this film was made now, who would you cast as Juliet?

Think the same film, with Baz Luhrmann, but it's made now instead of 1996.

Hmm... If she had been, say, 10 years younger, I would have suggested Michelle Trachtenberg. Lucy Hale is probably also a bit too old. But right now I can't think of anyone else. It's a difficult question, really.

You do realize they're both in their mid-20s, right? A little old to be playing a teenager, and if you want to be genuinely faithful to the play, only a 13 year old at that.

Rowan Blanchard, the girl who plays Riley Matthews on Girl Meets World. She's got that doe-eyed innocence about her.

Michelle Trachtenberg as Juliet? No. No. No. She isn't a good enough actress to pull that kind of part off.

I just watched the live broadcast with Richard Madden and Lily James. They were excellent.
