Officers are usually calm, calculating and pragmatic soldiers. Leaders who see the big picture. As opposed to how Frye and Darrow were portrayed as impulsive, volotile and emotional.
I get that the movie needed them to create controversy, but atleast make it realistic. No way those two douchebags would have made rank that high. They'd be seargents at best.

I have personally seen two infantry LtCols bump chests in the battalion office and it have to get broke up by a 1stSgt. Those twos characters weren't written the best, but they for damn sure could've been commissioned officers in the Corps...
shareAs a commissioned officer, Captain is not a high rank. Captain is a junior grade and they are pretty young from the their mid to late 20's.
I've served with a couple of hothead Captains that were just trying to impress the battalion commander, so I've seen similar behavior.
Remember, they weren't Marines anymore - They were mercs, so all discipline is out the window.
