Wont work in Windows XP! The sound is terrible. Anyone know of any patches for it?

I believe there is a patch to correct this...I found it awhile back on some website and I don't know where it is. Do general searches in google/yahoo and you might get lucky...however I'm not sure if these patches do correct the XP problem.

I use Dosbox with a front end called dfend and can run almost all dos games.

Yup, Ripper is fully supported by DOSBox:

I know that this is an old, no I take that back, a VERY OLD thread but I thought that I would offer you a fix if you actually still desire one. I wrote it in (Assembly) shortly after finding it no workey in my or any one that would try it for me, XP box. Like every line of (non-worthless) code that I've ever written, I have it cataloged and backed up in multiple locations, just in case I or somebody else may happen to need it someday. If you're paranoid (and these days we all should be) I'd be happy to send you the code if you're familiar with compiling ASM able to compile it yourself. Let me know. BTW you can get a very decent (free) compiler at http://flatassembler.net/ and the message boards there would be a good place to ask any questions that you have.
