I rather thought that Nicholas was aware from police reports etc that Rasputin was a pretty seedy character, he was certainly promiscuous and I think that there were accusations of rape as well? but given the fact that R, DID seem to be able to help Alexis a bit, and given that Nicholas was devoted to Alexandra, I think he turned a blind eye to the reports about Rasputin, since if it helped Alexis to have Rasputin around and if it helped to keep Alexandra calmer, he would over look a great deal.....

but I dont think that he was aware of the plotting to get rid of Rasputin.

I dont know about after his death but while R was alive he did pass on ot Alexandra the information he had about Rasputin's sordid lifestyle and it's not clear whetehr she beleived it or not... However even if she acceped that he was a womaniser, she still stood by Rasputin as she beleived that he was able to help Alexeie....
