The final fight scene was too unrealistic

They made the Mongolian like superman. It was way too over the top, and just made me hate this movie. I remember when I saw this movie as a kid in theaters, I thought this movie was so awesome. This movie is really retarded compared to Blood Sport. I felt Blood Sport was much more realistic. The Mongolian in this movie took way too much punishment to be human.

Not as unrealistic as Attila in Lionheart. Damn, it took a miracle for somebody to be able to beat his ass. Of course, they make it like Van Damme is the only man on earth that can take him.

Almost all martial arts movies have a seemingly unbeatable villain who is incredibly hard to hurt and ONLY the main hero of the story ever succeeds in beating him.

Look how hard TONG PO in Bloodsport was to hurt or how long it took Rocky to finally hurt Ivan Drago.

He was a martial arts movie villain he was SUPPOSED to seem invincible.

Do you guys make similar complaints at the boards for other martial arts movies?

not to unrealistic look how brock lesner easily kicked his opponents ass in the UFC

Lol- you're looking for realism in a film like this? JCVD being a clown on stilts was okay. The name "Muay Thai" Island was okay. The fight scene is where you draw the line?

reply

I had a similar reaction, but not because the Mongolian was unbeatable, but rather because JCVD took enough of a beating in the first 80% of the fight to be killed four or fives times over. He finally gets his third wind and beats the Mongolian with a handful of punches and kicks.
