Is Frank homosexual?

Recall that he is always shown recoiling at Vic's advances. He gives her a stuffed gorilla, but he shies away from being kissed. He admits to Tonny that he has never done it with her. He claims to have beaten a client of hers for no apparent reason (perhaps because Frank is gay or impotent but envious?). He is only shown kissing one person during the entire film, and that is Tonny in the bar. Anybody else think about this?

I couldn't help but laugh a little when I saw the title of your post because it seems that after "OMGWTF this movie SUX!!11" and "dis movies racist!", the "is [character] gay?" posts seem to be the most prevalent on the IMDB boards.

Anyway, he's not gay. His excuse is that he cannot have sex with her or be her boyfriend because she is a hooker (although he says he lets her give him oral), but in reality it is clear that he has some problems showing affection, cf. the scene where he visits his mother and pulls away when she wants to give him a hug.

I did. It occurred to me that they could both be bi. The best part of the movie was the rapport between frank and tonny, which was very flirtatious and they spoke about sex often. They both spend time in prison ...

I am Danish and there is absolutely nothing bisexual about their behaviour.
They just seem a bit teenage-like together, showing from a film perspective their close friendship.

And people with such emotional conflicts like those two, is not bi- og homosexual solely because they either reject sex or act flirtatious with other men.

It's not that a reject the theory, I just don't think it is right in this case. There is bisexuality in lots of other movies.

No Frank isn't gay, he just won't kiss his girlfriend cause she's sleeping with other men for money. He does love her but isn't able to really deal with his feelings for her. And in the end it bit him on the ass, when she screwed him over for the cash.
