Is this a sham/scam? WTF did I just see? Fake?

Why it is I didn't see a single shot with him or his crew and the grizzly. At the end of the movie not once did they show me any evidence that he was anywhere near the grizzly. In fact, how is it you are walking with a docu team, and yet when the bear was 500 meters away you weren't filming?! Did he steal his bear footage from PBS or something?

I don't think there were any bears. This jackass made a $10 suit, got the Canadian Gov't to fund his stupid project, and took a few blows in the suit.

The best part of the film to me is the fact he managed to make a documentary about a bear suit that never comes anywhere close to a bear. It would be like me making a documentary about becoming an NFL quarterback, and in the end I never play a game of football. It would be amazing to get paid to make a movie about a goal that never comes close to happening.

Heh, responding to a 2 year old comment.

Anyway, I haven't seen the movie but I think part of the meaning may come from the fact that he TRIED to make the suit, and he ummm sort of succeeded. Not many people today act upon their dreams because they think it's an impossibility.

I think he actually wanted to confront a bear, but mostly he wanted the attention. These are the types of people who prevail on "reality" TV these days, so in some ways, this film was ahead of its time. That is not a good thing.

I can't understand the high rating for this film, or the accolades from Quentin Tarantino and Penn & Teller. I don't respect their opinions anyway. This is a bland film about a faux "maverick." Timothy Treadwell was more of a man than he will ever be. 3/10 stars.
