Spoilers: Madame Serena Merle

hey, Wasn't it a surprise to you when you knew that Pansy was her daughter. I loved the scene where Isabel finds her in the convent. Barbara hershey is excellent and she can't barely talk because of how embarrassed and frustrated was. What did you think of the convent scene??
Did you ever expect Madame serena Merle to be Pansy's mother? What a twist!.
very unpredictable. What do people have to say about it?

This is one movie I honestly can't say whether I like it or think it is a terrible adaptation. I don't think I have read the book, but throughout the movie, the Jamesian metaphors and symbolism were everywhere and reminded me of highschool and college readings. It is clear from the piano scene near the beginning that Kidmond is on a path to destruction--on the same path as serena. Toward becoming From the first scenes with Pansy and Osmond and Serena, it is painfully obvious. It is almost as obvious to me as the fact that Osmond is a sly money-minded man of ownership.
I guess it is because I have read many books that are similar, but to me it was all obvious. The difference and reason to watch the film (for me) is to decide how she interperets her own convictions in the end. Unfortunatly, for me, I don't think the end is concrete enough to be interpereted.
You should read The Awakening by Chopin, Hernan (I assume there is a movie as well, but the book is probably better). You will like it.
