Hard to believe anyone could be so sure and so wrong. For their sake (even thoguh others have caught the error) I'll explain that it is indeed pompatus. It was a made up word that Steve Miller used in his song "The Joker". In the lyric sheet it's spelled with an "i" (I believe) instead of an "a" but this is still a case of someone not using their abillity to think outside of the box. Reminds me of the "round John virgin" misinterpretation of "Silent Night".
