A little harsh aren't we?

Holy *beep* 3.9?

This is a very well done film and even if you hated "doll-on-the-rampage" stuff like Child's Play this is a perfect antidote. I love how the film makes you guess whether the doll is actually alive or not and that the little girl isn't played as some innocent Shirley Temple wannabe. I really can't think of a better way to do a film like this without ripping off "Child's Play".

should be 2.9. Not harsh enough.

Yeah, I didn't think this was that bad. Not great, IMO, but not bad. I too appreciated its attempts at ambiguity.

What do you think this is, a signature? It's a way of life!

I do too. But, that point was made rather clearly when the shrink played the tape and the audience did not see or hear the doll as we had seen earlier when the girl was alone with it.

That makes the girl at least partially psychotic. She injured or killed all those people.

Now, the ambiguous part was whether the doll was supernatural and conveying evil thoughts to the girl (and to the boy before her). In either case, the puppet wasn't physically talking or moving.
