Watched this one last week on cable, not a very bad movie for sleeping,:-) Though the story seems quite mediocre, I enjoyed Naomi Watts's performance pretty much, she showed her potential, I think. But I still missed both the begnning and the end. So here are my questions:

1.Why Joe Mantegna fell in love with Naomi? What maked him quit his cop job?
2.Naomi's sister is his ex-girlfriend?
3.About the ending: both Naomi and Mantegna are alive and live together, And Naomi's sister wanted to betray them but was killed, right?

He explained to her why he quit his cop job. He was busted for being on the take.

After being busted from the force he started up a failing security system firm that put a security system in a place that Molly's sister and their criminal friends wanted to rob. Molly's sister seduced Joe because she wanted to get to his files to get the security system plans.

Molly's sister was killed by the drug dealers who they had robbed.

Naomi Watts was virtually a stranger back in those days, and the movie, while entertaining is very mediocre.

The sound of a kiss is not as loud as a cannon's, but its echo lasts longer

Yeah Naomi Watts was great despite the movie being terrible. I could see her potential here wqhen she was still an unknown actress.
