Great movie

I think this is one of those underestimated great films.

Question: After Tom introduces the REAL Tom to Ruth ... and they're out by the car, Tom asks the Real Tom, "So you two were close?" and the the real Tom says, "Not really... I just knew him."

It's almost as if the director or writer was deliberate in making that point. What is the point being made? That there are some lives who don't, in fact, leave any impression on the world?

We still don't know much about Bill.

That scene showed what would have happened if Tom just told the truth in the first place. He didn't have to "fix" everything. The 1st Tom didn't understand this. The 2nd Tom did.
