Two questions

1. Why wasn't Tom invited to the lasagne dinner? They claim it was for couples only, but Debbie was obviously invited.

2. Am the only one who believes that the fatal flaw with this film is Schwimmer's performance? To me his pathetic hang-dog expression and mannered acting style verges on a bad Jerry Lewis impression. For someone meant to be in his mid-twenties, his characterisation seems more like that of a mentally-challenged adolescent.

1. The whole point of them inviting Julie (who was the other single person there) was that they had become increasingly frustrated with Tom's depression and oddity. They didn't really want to spend time with him anymore.

2. Schwimmer had an excellent performance. In fact, I would say the role was designed for him. The character was meant to be a neurotic and depressed and slightly hang-dog. He played it beautifully if only because that seems to be his natural acting style.

2. hahaha i dont think Schwimmer did much acting at all. he's a pathetic dude in general and he the role was made for him (or is it the other way around?)

reply

2. Yeah, hahaha. I guess Schwimmer was good in this. I just got tired of this story about an antisocial personality. Tough to relate to and are we to believe he actually graduated from college????
