road trip, same movie?
Is it my imagination or did the producers of Road Trip just completely rip off their idea from this movie and give it no credit at all. I've heard of recycling ideas, but this is just pathetic.

Well, this was made in 1998.
Road Trip was made in 2000.
Looks like Road Trip ripped off this movie.
Also, Road Tip was more raunchy. This had a more 80s feel to it.
That would be one hell of an achievement.

Mina educates the sweet and chivalrous guy (jason biggs) how to stand up for him they were best friends , and helped each other a lot. (similar to the relationship between Trips and ivy)
Road Trip (2000 i dont remember a female being on the trip, it was 3 guys driving across the country)
A breakp package was sent across the country to breakup with his girlfriend but changed his mind and chased it down.
I preferred Overnight delivery to road trip it was more down to earth and realistic.

Loser is well known to be a remake the The Apartment (Lemmon won an oscar for the role).
There are only so many stories out there. They all carry the same elements in them and this leads to similar plots in some films. The same thing happens in novels.
I just finished watching it, it was on ctv and I really enjoyed it a lot, actually.
Veryyyy funny, and Paul Rudd was hilarious.
In my most humble opinion Road Trip has nothing on Overnight Delivery.
Road trip made a poor attempt at the same idea and fell short. Overnight Delivery was good, Im suprised alot more people havent seen it.
It is, but Road Trip was way better!

shareI don't know about Road Trip, but to me it was like The Sure Thing lite. Not as well acted, directed, or written. Surprising because I love Reese W. and Paul Rudd.
shareWas just listening to one of kevin smiths pods where he interviews one of the producers (dan ethridge) of this flick and he was talking about how he(smith) did rewrites of the script and at the time he met Todd phillips at some dinner and told him about this thing he'd been working on and low and behold, couple of years later he sees road trip.
He doesnt suggest at all that he ripped it off but from the story it does sound awful fishy.
