Bethesda Fountain in Central Park

Melanie can walk home with her son from the Bethesda Fountain in Central Park. She can afford to live in that pricey real estate location but she can't afford a nanny? I really found it irritating that Jack & Melanie were supposed to be so pressed to make it to their scattered appointments (job & children) yet they were always 5 mins away from the next one. Or so the movie made it seem that way! A New Yorker can't make their way out of most of the major underground train stops in 15 mins no matter making it across town!

Um so by your logic no one in that real estate demographic utilizes day care centers? I'm sure that is not the case. That area is heavily populated with day care centers and I'll bet half live within walking distance. A two bedroom apt of that size within walking distance of Central Park is about $7,000 a month. It actually makes a lot of sense that she has no money left over for a full time nanny. Families in that area who have nannies are millionaires many times over. I'd have a qualm if a single mom like Melanie in that area did have a nanny tbh.
