I remember a film from when I was a kid, like 6/7 that fits this bill. but the 1997 tag is at odds as im 20 now, and this wierd awesome film has been haunting me for as long as I can remember, Is the year correct? ,Or do these supposedly terrible production values give the impression of 80s b movie?. Please help! I need closure!
shareThis was made in 1995. You couldn't buy it, even on VHS, until 1999. I'd have to assume this was a made-for-cable-TV film.

shareI remmeber watching it on HBO when I was growing up, I musta saw it about 30 times. and I LOVED THIS MOVIE. I don't know why it was just awesome to me. I really don't know what all the hate is about...
And Yea, I thought it was a Low Budget Hollywood movie from the 80s but not so low budget that they actually had good film quality.
Gues I was wrong. Its a low Budget late 90s movie!
Maybe The Main Blonde and Blue Eyes had some spair 80s film laying around? :P

He's gained a lot of weight, and was clearly older in the face.
Im not sure why anyone would mistake this for an 80s movie.
However, there was many small budget sci-fi movies in the 80's so you could be remembering literally anyone of hundreds of movies.
