Blade Runner connection

I know its a stretch but in some ways Omega Doom 5.5 (Hauer) could be a salvaged and reworked older Roy Batty.

As I was watching the film I kept thinking that this is what Batty would look like in the future after the events of Blade Runner.

I could be wrong and be sullying blade runner but I did like this film and Hauer was great, as usual.

I'm sure Albert had that in mind too. More as a side effect. Like "Cool, now that we got Rutger on board, playing an android again, people might make a connection."

It would fit even. Maybe some time after Blade Runner, the androids were really successfull, stretching their life time, overpowering the humans, comitting revenge on them after they were mainly kept as mining slaves with only a short life time available. Maybe somebody resurrected Rutger's android character.
Or maybe - most probably - Rutger's android wasn't the only one of his type. There's probably a huge warehouse somewhere with Rutger Androids packed in packages, ready to be delivered to a customer.

However. Watching Blade Runner and then Omega Doom might surely be a cool experience. Though optically, it's a huge drawback to switch from BR to OD. But storywise it wouldn't hurt.

Mr. Cyphr that was a great response.

Imagining a warehouse full of androids that all looked like Batty...mind blowing indeed.

I love it.

Just watched this movie and there's some nice references to other RH movies. The "I am the business" line from Bladerunner where RacheaL accepts what she is with Deckard. The bit where we see RH dressed in white on the horse? Flesh and blood? The bird of prey from lady hawk? Possibly a stretch but I like to think they are references.
I have to say even the really bad films have a place. This isn't as bad as some I've seen.

Roy Batty is dead.

Rutger Hauer did such a good job in that film, it's too bad he's been relegated to films like these. Meanwhile, Tom Cruise is raking in cash making complete garbage, and having no acting ability at all. Hollywood, I hate you.

Of course, I guess Hollywood just does whatever it takes to make money. I suppose I must really hate move going consumers.
