Worst Rutger Hauer movie EVER

This movie is so bad, it made "Turbulence 3" look like "Air Force One".....Rutger is almost sleepwalking through this movie, damn.

I was SO bored watching this piece of junk, I can't even describe it...and to think that Pyun wasn't sued by someone for ripping them off is a mystery..

Yojimbo? Dollars? Last man Standing?
But trying to make a twist into the future with cyborgs battling it out was a good idea though...ON PAPER!

I liked Jahi J.J.Zuri's role though...of course he's the first one to bite the dust, 'cuz he's the only black guy in this movie..all the others are similar-looking females and Norbert Weisser (who I normally like) as an extremely annoying and un-funny comic-relief decapitated cyborg-head..

I can't believe that Albert Pyun actually has made more than TEN movies that rate lower than this on imdb!
-This is my John Hancock?

I didn't think it was that bad.

I think the best move for the film would have been to have some exploitation and more dark humor and thrive as the low-budget sci-fan flick that it really is. I thought the movie took itself a little too seriously for it to be as entertaining as it should have been.

Well, I've actually seen THREE Albert Pyun films much worse than this (Urban Menace, Corrupt and The Wrecking Crew), plus I've seen "Turbulence 3: Heavy Metal", which was an equally poor performance by Rutger Hauer...

So this one isn't as bad as I thought before (but it's still pretty lousy)

If it had been more un-serious, I guess it would have worked better, like you say...but it wasn't and it didn't!

I cant even imagine a movie worse than this. I mean there was not a single thing I liked it the whole thing. No action, boring dialogs, poor sets, poor music, bad acting, no plot, bad direction...this is as low as it gets.

According to my voting list ive voted on 915 movies and ive only given 13 "one's" so Im not someone that's mean. In fact I love b-movies. But this was just a total waste. And of all the one's ive given this is without a doubt the lowest.

Absolutely horrible film.

How do you like your brandy, sir?
In a glass.

I'm very disappointed on this movie. I bought it 'cos Rutger Hauer. I like him since Nighthawkes, Flash & Blood and ofcourse an ever sci-fi masterpiece the Blade Runner. But his latest movies almost all rubish. What's happenning with him???
This movie was realy sucks, wasted 84 minuts. I cannot say any positiv, unless the black killer girl robots. I think it gave the idea for Matrix's[1999] black suits.

LOL try lookin at: Nemesis 1-4

Actually, the first Nemesis-movie wasn't that bad, all things considered.. the cast was decent, the action was somewhat well-done (at least it was fast-paced), and it had pretty good humor as well. I've seen Nemesis 2 and 3, and the gradually get worse.. I've yet to see the 4th one, but I heard it consisted mostly of recycled footage and super-closeups of Andrew Divoff's face, lol.. sounds hilarious.

Speaking of Rutger Hauer, I think he's on the way to a semi-comeback (not that he's been away), as "Hobo with a Shotgun" just came out, and it's friggin' awesome! That is, if you like those kinda movies.. :D

The first Nemesis is fantastic filmmaking. I've seen Nemesis 2 and 4 however and they are horrid, horrid films.

I'd say the same for Omega Doom, but the first 10 minutes or so of the film, up until he stops talking with Norbert Weisser (great actor btw), is brilliant cinema. The rest of the film sadly consists of repeated images upon repeated images, and just boring back and forth between actors as it were a play (sadly not a 'play' like his Deceit). No visual inventiveness whatsoever.

Ranking of bad Pyun:

Nemesis 4
Nemesis 2
Arcade
Heatseeker
Omega Doom
Hong Kong 97

I really liked Hong Kong 97, , but it is truly one of the dumbest films ever made and very, very sloppy. It is fun though, and aesthetically beautiful many a times.

Still discovering Pyun, and I've yet to see his infamous Urban trilogy. :)

I heard this film was based on scenes from a Dashiell Hammett novel from the 1920s. That predates Yojimbo in, what, 1961 and most of the other similar flicks.

But then, most things from Hollywood are either rip-offs from something, or have enough vague similarities that critics can claim plagiarism...

I just watched it for what it is and quite liked it. Character-focussed, with very unique non-human characters, allowing for a LOT of diversity in how they are acted.
