Who was the bigger jerk between Buddy Love or Dean Richmond?

For me personally I thought Dean Richmond was the bigger jerk of the two, I hated how mean he was towards Sherman Klumpp, I was so happy to see Buddy tell Richmond off at the party and how it came back to him like a boomerang.

I thought Buddy was a likable character in the first half of the movie.
