Nicki wouldn't be the one betraying Stacy by telling someone about the abuse. Bobby was the one betraying Stacy by hitting her and apologizing afterwards and saying it would never happen again and just keeping on hitting her and making her feel like she's nothing and that would be the only one who will love her and hitting her some more and saying she deserved it. What he was doing to her was not love. If he really loved her, he would never hurt her.

They feel the abuse is a secret or their 'own business' and everyone should keep their confidences.

I guess Stacy never would have spoken to Nicki again if she told because she called it betrayal and that many people don't like or want interference in their relationships but there is a huge difference between interfering in someone's relationship and protecting an abuse victim from his or her abuser. If you're interfering in someone's relationship, you're just being nosy. If you're protecting an abuse victim from his or her abuser, then you're not interfering in their relationship. You're trying to help someone.
