Subtitles in Region 2 DVD

Can anyone tell me if there are English subtitles with the Region 2 DVD of
"Nach Fünf im Urwald"? I doubt there are but it would be nice to know for sure.

On amazon.de there is no mentioning of english subtitles concerning ''Nach fuenf...''.
German films not purchasable with english subtitles might be available from a german institution named ''Goethe Institut''(G.I.). It runs several agencies in Northern America and is officially active in areas like teaching german language or presenting german culture. Therefore they have many german films with english subtitles in store to show them in special screenings and also tapes for lend to other institutions (universities, schools etc.) for ''educational purposes''.
Franka Potente Films not purchasable with english subtitles, which were shown
with subtitles on festivals are: ''Nach fuenf...'', ''Bin ich schoen'', ''Downhill City'', ''Schlaraffenland''. Unhappily the outstanding TV film ''Coming In'' never was shown to foreign audiances, so there seems to exist no subtitled form.
''Nach fuenf...'' obviously is standard in german language teaching.
On the website of an agency of the G.I. in USA at least this film is mentioned - there exist ntsc-tapes of the subtitled film. The biggest problem for private persons to get films might be possible restricted lend policy, but it deserves a try to ask them.

I realise this query is ancient, but I can confirm that the Goethe Institute in the UK has a 16 mm film copy with English sub-titles, available to hire through the BFI. My film society (Chertsey) showed it around 2001 (I think), and it was excellent. A UK DVD release with English subtitles would be most welcome - it definitely deserves a wider audience.

I realize you put up this post ages ago, but the answer to your question is that there are no subtitles; I have a copy and checked for myself. If Frau Schmidt didn't do a good job teaching you German in high school, you're on your own - so pour yourself a tall stein and sit back, because it could be a long night.
