I think it's ironic how after Nick Stahl's character breaks the vending machine, the police officer tells him not to get into anymore fights with machines... and Nick Stahl played John Connor in Terminator 3. :-)
Nick is a very nice person too. I was on the set during the filming of this movie. I was a detention officer for the county and was working security for the filming crew... the director asked me to do the fingerprinting because he wanted it 'realistic' lol. So when you see those hands fingerprinting Nick, that's me. :) I got paid a whole $25 to do it. LOL The other detention officers on the set tried to keep the jail scenes as realistic as possible, but we could only suggest so much. The director had his own ideas.. most not the way things should have been done, but overall it was an awesome experience. Like I said, Nick is a very nice person. He sat and talked with us for hours. Seemed really interested in what we had to say... Marilou was another story. She was pretty standoffish. We were told it was so she could concentrate on her character. Strange how the younger actor didn't seem to have a problem being personable yet still able to get into character.
I watched the movie years back when it first aired. It was a fairly good flick.
My wife and I were background extras in the court scene's and Nick Stahl threw a temper tantrum and slamed his notebook down and stormed off the set. He thought the bailiff grabed his arm too hard when he was convicted by the judge. We had to shoot around his scenes till he cooled off. The principal actors may seem standoffish but they are in many cases rehearsing their next lines in their head. Everyone on the sets put in very long days, especially the crew and sometimes tempers flare up.
