Great locations and settings!!!

I went through the topics here, and can't believe that I'm the first person to comment on the wonderful choices they made for shooting locations and scenery throughout this movie.

There are so many ways you can approach this topic for this particular movie. I understand that most of the shooting went on in North Carolina, but it seems that most of the inferred locales mentioned center around Virginia, Ohio, etc.

It's a tribute to the beauty of North Carolina, but makes me want to take a long slow trip on back roads from NC through Virginia, West Virginia and Ohio.

And the feeling of the movie, the part where the two presidents travel by themselves lost in the countryside, I don't know if any of the filmmakers had anything to do with "Planes Trains and Automobiles," but this part of the movie had a very similar feel to it. Very nice capturing of Americana down home localities, beautiful landscapes, etc.

I'd definitely recommend this movie for a family preparing for a trip across this part of the country.

I can't remember how much of this movie I've seen. Do they show much of the White House interior? Are there scenes set in the Oval Office or the residence?

They show a bunch of scenes inside the White House. It's all really well done. The movie looks amazing.

This movie had a terrible representation of the White House. The Oval Office is okay, depsite the fact that the windows are too far apart. However, the rooms in the residence are terrible. In one scene, the ex-presidents give a tour of the White House and they go into various rooms on the first floor before taking the stairs (the one next to the elevator, not the grand stairs) to the second floor. After we get a glimpse of the center hall, they go and hide in an awful reproduction of master bedroom (with some furniture from the Lincoln Bedroom), which is way too small and has the ugliest wallpaper you'd ever see. This room also includes a secret door that goes down to a passageway that leads outside. One scene takes place in an exercise room on the second floor. Judging by the placement of the fireplace and size of the room, I assume it is the west bedroom that overlooks the north portico. The movie also features a kitchen that seems too understaffed. A climatic scene takes place on the south lawn as the ex-presidents flee from the secret service on horseback. If I remember correctly, the Rose Garden outside the West Wing was shown during this scene.

If you want to see a good White House movie, watch Dave or The American President.

I never realized how beautiful the scenery and locations were until my mom got her wide screen TV. It was the first thing we watched and it was a really impressive both for the movie and also for a wide screen TV demo. As someone else said, the movie, Dave, also has very impressive White House settings, but this movie is by far the more beautiful for actual scenery. I never thought a movie like this would be any different on wide screen, but it is.
I think both movies are very very funny, but I like Dave better.

It was fun watching the shots from San Francisco. I visited it there last year. It was cool seeing the building again.
It was fun looking at the beauty of the east coast
