Any guess who Matthews is primarily based on?

Quayle and Gore both have a bit of a lisp going on, which is placed into the character, but then he does really stupid stuff so I'm giving the edge to Quayle except his running mate likes to do a lot of jogging so that puts me back in the Clinton-Gore relationship. I'm just gonna assume he's an amalgamation of the 2, maybe even with a little 80s George Sr. in there i.e. falling while bowling and while talking about Reagan said "We've had some sex."

Actually I'd say VP Ford.

reply

Because of the golf or was Ford just that clumsy?!!

reply

Ford was just that clumsy! The best stumble he did was when he was coming down the stairs from Air Force One. Lol

Quayle and Gore are not ex-presidents.

Oskars problem with Eli is not her ambiguous gender, but her ambiguous humanity.

reply

No but they're both Vices which he starts the movie as.

reply

Fine.

But they are clearly ex-presidents for most of the movie.

Oskars problem with Eli is not her ambiguous gender, but her ambiguous humanity.

reply

Are you mixing President Matt Douglas with Ted Matthews, President Haney's vice?

I figured Douglas was a Clinton-Kennedy because he was a Dem and womanizer. Kramer's a bit of a wild card. He could be Bush, Ford, or Nixon.

reply

Seriously?

One is supposed to be Clinton, the other is W. Bush.

I know the movie predates W Bush, nut that could be his father.

Oskars problem with Eli is not her ambiguous gender, but her ambiguous humanity.
