Out of character

Don't get me wrong. I loved the film and I believe what Mrs. Tabori did took a lot of courage. But in the first part of the film she has this trusting predisposition. She even disuades the blonde girl (the diplomat's daughter who had switched photos or IDs with her Jewish friend) from complaining or bringing this up to the authorities who were deporting them. I understand that there is the chance that if the girl had comfronted these people she might have been shot on the spot. But there is also the possibility that Mrs. Tabori most unknowingly sealed her fate. Anyway, after seeing the conditions in which they were being transported, it only took some pushing by her neighbor for Mrs. Tabori to face instant death and comfront the SS officer. I only wish she had taken the girl with her. She had a valid reason and would have reinforced her point.

Good point, but everything in the movie is supposed to base on facts.
And people arenĀ“t perfect.

But how much of this film is really based on fact? There is no real indication that I can find.
