Very disturbing scenes....

SPOILER:
I saw this movie back in 2004 and i can still remember the chapter with the Nazi's raping and murdering the 2 young teenage girls in their home, I was so horrified by the scenes but i do not understand WHY they where in the film? This is suposed to be fact based... But how is this fact? Neither of these girls survived as far as i could see one was drowned in the toilet and the other was raped and murdered. So who came forward to add this to the true life account? what did this have to do with Pauline Collins charactor. Yes it add's a sense of true horror to the film, But i don't see the point in this section of the movie...?

Olga was the Jewish friend of Maria (red head on the train ... daughter of Swiss ambassador or something like that). It is never established that Olga is drowned. Meanwhile the Hungarian Fascists (Green shirts) where the ones who raped Maria ... who is on the train with Mrs Tabori. So neither is murdered and the rape is Maria's backstory ... which is quite relevant.

But what I really wonder is why you think that this story is 100% true? You yourself used the termed "fact based" which indicates there there may be fiction as well.

BTW ... I found the rape of Mrs Tabori on the cattle car ... by a fellow condemned Jew ... to be much more disturbing than that of the young girls. It is hard to believe that in such a position a person could be in that state of mind ... but then again what do I know.
