Rule #1

I loved this movie and even bought the DVD but there was one thing that bothered me through the whole movie... RULE #1!

To me, it is unrealistic to make the clones agree to rule #1. The clones are as much as Doug 1 as Doug 1 is. They have the same memories and feelings (pretty much), how could they agree not to have sex with "their" wife?

At first the clones didn't even know they were the clones so they are as married to Laura as much as Doug 1 is. I wouldn't want me telling me I couldn't have sex with my wife, especially if she is Andie McDowell!

How would you feel about 3 other guys banging your wife? Get a clue.

reply

I guess you didn't read the first post.
Yeah, 3 other guys.. that's different.
How about if those 3 other guys were you?

reply

I did read the first post. I wouldn't want any three guys sleeping with my wife, even my clones.

reply

Ok, suppose you were one of the clones. To you, she is your wife, because she is.
Are you going to let someone (you) tell you that you can't sleep with your wife?

reply

I see your point but I think the clones would have sense enough to realize that they're not the ones actually married to her.

reply

Yes, they are the exact same ones actually married to her...they are Doug.

I think the best part of the movie was when Laura unknowingly forces numbers 2, 3 & 4 to break Rule No: 1. The sacrifices those guys had to make.

reply

Force? Yeah, well she basically raped 4.

reply

Raped? To her, it was her husband. The same guy that the clones were. She had no clue about the clones. It would've been a different matter if she'd already known about the clones and still had sex with one of them.
