seen this before?

Is it me or was there another movie about that same time (1996) that had the same plot? Preg. woman mistaken for someone else. As I watched it, it seemed to me that I had seen this before. Anyone have an idea what it might have been?

God,I'm just for that other movie you're talking about!
I remembered while talking to a friend the other day and when I saw this one on TV I got confused.
The one I'm talking about has to be with Dermot mULRONEY+bILL Pullman. They are brothers. There's a girl like Rickie Lake(but a bit more chubby)working at the ticket booth of the metro.
Every day Dermot passes by to work she's dazzled by his looks. One day he accidentally slips into the train lines. She escorts him in the ambulance and lies to the nursing about being his fiancee' to let her stay with her. When his family arrives, she's ashamed to tell them the truth.
She slowly falls in love with his brother(B.Pullman)and finds in his family the family she never had.
It just came to me it might be Sandra Bullock!
I'll check it out

Hah! - if only I was a count!!!

I think the brother[Pullman's] was Peter Gallagher- not positive.Am I right?

reply

100% correct!
great movie

reply

Did you just call Sandra Bullock "a girl" and "more chubby" than Rickie?

reply

I was thinking that this would be a good pairing with While You Were Sleeping, especially since she fell in love with tth amily and had none of her own.

What other movies do the main characters lie or pretend to be someone else? Well, I Married a Dead Man of course since this film was based on that one.

True Lies (?)

This film is a remake of a 1950 Barbara Stanwyck movie called "No Man of Her Own" . It's very good.

reply

No it's not. It says right in the credits, it's based on a book called I Married A Dead Man.

The book is markedly different than either version of the movie.

Yes! Jane Cowl plays the mother in law and it is a great Barbara Stanwyck flick!

Seen it? I lived it. Well, not the deception part. My family was in a train wreck several years ago. My daughter was pregnant. We almost lost our lives. I had never seen this movie, but was resting in bed watching TV a moment ago. I still have anxiety and depression. The train wreck scene just happened. I started crying like crazy. Flashbacks are a real bitch.
