Every time I watch this, I always think to myself this is better then most of the Christmas movies that have in the theaters!

I agree. I loved polar express, here it was promoted as a kids movie and that's why I think it was more popular. Angela L could still play Mrs C.

I absolutely love the idea of Angela as Mrs. Santa Claus in the first place. Great score, great cast, and it's just a lot of fun.
It would translate well to stage, but I don't think it will ever get there because Jerry Herman walked out on opening night of La Cage Aux Folles on Broadway, and said he would never again do another Broadway show. But I'm very glad he did this!
This is a family favorite of ours. We love the soundtrack, history and just everything about the movie.
