Why this film is as popular as it is

I really think this film is a 'cult classic' and so popular because of the good looks of all the actors. It sounds shallow or silly I know, but I think that.
Tori and Ivan have never looked more attractive, and they have a good chemistry together too.
The music and excellent cinematography don't hurt either.

this movie is horrible. The dialogue and acting suck and the story is preposterous and people love it for being so campy. It has nothing to do with how anyone in it looks.

Actually, there are quite a few people who like this film. Perhaps some like it because its campy, but there is no way anyone could know if that is why everyone likes it. People like films for all different kinds of reasons.
I happen to like it, its a guilty pleasure.
Its not a film to be taken so seriously. Its just a fun movie, not horrible not terrific, just fun.

I completely agree! Plus this was some of the 90's best work on a "made for TV movie"- it's not supposed to be anything more than it is. I mean people love Cinderella and I've never seen a dress magically appear fitting perfectly in time to walk out the door for an event in real life! Enjoy it or don't- but I do :)
