Filming Locations

Does anyone know any of the filming locations? Specifically, Debbie Reynolds and Albert Brooks houses. I'll be traveling the whole coast of California in the spring. Thanks

The town that Mother lives in is Sausalito. It's a quaint little town in Marin County just north of the Golden Gate Bridge. To get to it, you take the first exit on the right after you get off the bridge (while driving north) before you reach the tunnel.

I am not sure if Mother's actual house in the movie is in Sausalito, but a number of scenes shown while driving in Albert Brooks' roadster and in Mother's sedan were in and around Sausalito.

I had a simular question. Where was the house Albert Brooks lived in at the beginning of the film? I think it is the Santa Monica hills over LA or the San Fernando valley.

i live in SF and got to the one here/and in San Bruno didnt look like either of them

Does anyone know if the "Golden Gate Galleria" is a a real mall? When you google it in/around SF only a single store comes up.

The house in the beginning(Albert Brooks empty house) is in Sherman Oaks. He turns on to Valley Vista Blvd then the house is on Woodcliff Road

I live in Marin County and there's no Golden Gate Galleria here. I haven't heard of one in San Francisco, and I didn't recognize the mall they were shooting in.

Golden Gate Galleria is actually the Sherman Oaks Galleria in Sherman Oaks, CA.

Golden Gate Galleria is actually the Sherman Oaks Galleria in Sherman Oaks, CA. In the very first shot of them entering the parking garage, you can see the 405 freeway behind them
