the way he constantly questions everything about his mother. His whining way he blows through his lines. I love this movie and I think that sometimes Brooks isn't that bad but seriously he wrote this so I figure it gave him free range to act like an as%hole in the movie. He shoulda toned it down a bit. It woulda been funnier.

Usually I can't stand Albert Brooks, but this time he was merely, as you say, annoying, which I think was right for the part. I could see the futility of his whining battles with his mom (some of which I've had with mine) as a valid complaint got blown out of proportion. Annoying, but appropriate.
sharei cant stand albert brooks at all!! and this movie just validated that even more! how he is even famous? is beyond me? acts the same way in every movie! could have put brendan fraser in movie instead of debbie reynolds and i wouldnt even have noticed, it wasnt that even worse movie "the scout"? man that was bad!!

shareYes he is annoying. And he reminds me very much of some gentlemen I know who act similarly. The nervous, perfectionist, sensitive and unsure of everything (PISCES!!) type. It's people like that who have issues with parents because they can't learn to pick/choose their battles or when to just shut the fvck up and not question things...
